About Boiling Eggs
Boiling Eggs is a small site about one kitchen job: boiling eggs the way you like them.
What's here
An egg timer with an alarm, a doneness chart, and short guides to each kind of egg, each cooking method and the usual problems, from peeling to cracking.
How the times work
Every page uses the same set of times, for large eggs from the fridge lowered into boiling water. Times are given as ranges because egg size, starting temperature, altitude and your stove all change them. The best advice on the site is also the simplest: cook one test egg and adjust.
Food safety
Storage and safety figures come from USDA, FDA and FoodSafety.gov, and each one links to the page it came from. See how long boiled eggs last.
Who edits it
The site is edited by Tanya Francis, a home cook from Guelph, Ontario.
